Invitations!

So, our invitations have been sent out.  (Yay!)  Invitations were something that I started looking for at the beginning because I thought they'd set  the tone for the wedding.  I got all into letterpress, embossing, paper weights, foils, etc.  As though I was some sort of stationary connoisseur.  The weird thing was that I found several invitations that were just perfect but weren't perfect for us.  Like, for another couple in another wedding, I loved them.  But they didn't have anything to do with us or our relationship.  Now maybe that sounds ridiculous; it is just an invitation.  That's what I told myself when I was trying to convince myself to settle.  But, the thing was, I didn't want to commit to something because it was just an invitation if it wasn't right.  That sort of commitment cost money, would set the tone for the wedding (at least in my mind), and just wasn't right.

So, I kept looking.  I ended up stumbling upon onelittlem, which had quirky, handmade invitations.  When I saw our invitations, it was love at first sight.  I just knew they were perfect for Brise and me. A bit of tweaking regarding the colors, some helpful designs by the store owner (Melissa), and we were done.

While the invitations may not be perfect for someone else (the initial wedding designer we had suggested I choose something more classic -- although I don't know anything more classic than Monopoly!), they were perfect for us!

Once they arrived, we pieced them all together.  I realized that I am really terrible at spelling (poor Rob, or is it Ron?), but I can place stickers pretty well!  I'm a bit fearful I forgot to put stamps on one or two of the envelopes, but that's just distracting me from the fact that it's real!   People have actually been invited (from as far away as London & Oregon!) and in 104.6 days, Brise & I will be married!
