Question: What's on the Menu?

It's going to be a buffet (Southern style, meat filled), so you don't have to pick before you arrive.  If you have special dietary needs, please let us know.

Question: Can I have the contact information for the hotels?

Sure!

  • The Ocean Plaza (912) 786-7777 (Tell them you are with the Walle/Brudi group.)

    • Hotel rooms with and without ocean view.  (Prices from $160-$220/night)

  • The Beachside Colony (912) 786-4535 (Tell them you are with the Walle/Brudi group.)

    • Condos that are basically hotel room suites with and without ocean view.

    • 1, 2 & 3 bedroom options.  (Prices from $180-900/night, depending on # of rooms)

    • We have rooms reserved ONLY until January 24, 2015, after which it may become more difficult to get a reservation.

  • Mermaid Cottages (912) 655-6525 or denisemermaid@gmail.com (Tell them you are with the Walle/Brudi group.)

    • Book these EARLY!!!  Minimum of 2 nights, but prices are as low as $120/night

  • Due to the interest in staying in Savannah, here is some information:

    • Please do not drink and drive.  The road from Tybee to Savannah is a police gauntlet and the drive from the island to downtown is a flag for DUIs, especially at night.

    • Check out Airbnb.com, homeaway.com, or vrbo.com for houses/rooms/condos/etc. to rent.

    • The least expensive hotels are the ones with "Midtown" or "Southside" in their name, but they are extra far away.

    • The Marriot, Hyatt and Holiday Inn on Bay St. are the closest, but the prices are higher (approx. $250-300/night).

    • Bay St. is full of adorable B&Bs, but they are expensive. (East Bay Inn @ $250/night, for example)

    • The Thunderbird Inn was recently remodeled.  It is cheap (rooms start at $59.00/night), but the neighborhood is not the most desirable.

Question: Can I take pictures?

Please don't! We're hiring a super awesome photographer and we really want him to be able to do his job and we want you to be able to enjoy the day.  For that reason, we're having an "unplugged" wedding.  That means that we'd like you to extricate yourself from your cell phones/ipads/game boys for the ceremony and, if you can stand it, the reception.  The photographer has promised us 700+ pictures, they're all included, and we will happily share the photos with everyone!

Question: How do I get to the venue/reception?

When you get to Tybee, look for the Light House.  The Tybee Lite Shrine Club is immediately next to the Light House, on the ocean side.  It's an old fort and it looks like it is an old fort.  The ceremony will be on the beach (walk across the boardwalk thing and look for the chair set up that looks like a wedding).

Question: Where should I park?

At your hotel, if possible.  Otherwise, there is a lot immediately in front of the venue.  We have passes for that area, but it is NOT reserved for our guests.  Meaning, you won't have to pay, but you may not find a spot.  ALL parking on Tybee Island requires payment.  Expect to spend approximately $5.00/day on parking and DO NOT try to escape the parking fairies.  They're everywhere and it's how Tybee Island supports its economy.

Question: What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will start promptly at 4:04 P.M.  The reception will follow immediately after the ceremony, so, probably 5:04 P.M.

Question: Is there an email where I can reach the bride & groom?

Yes! Daniellebrise(at)gmail.com

Question: What should I wear?

If you think Danielle and/or Brise should be giving sartorial advice, you haven't seen us recently enough.  The ceremony is on the beach and the reception is on the "patio" (old gun turret place) of the Tybee Lite Shrine Club. It will be on April 25, 2014, (there is a historical average temperature of 78°F and an average precipitation (during the month) of 3.24 inches (the third lowest in the year for Tybee).  The record high was in 1986 of 95°F and the record low was in 1989 of 32°F.)  The interior of the Shrine Club will be available for shelter for inclement weather or sunshine (if you're of a Daniellian complexion).  As far as formality of the wedding, Brise will be in a suit (not a tux) and Danielle in the fanciest dress she's worn since Senior Prom, but they will be wearing both of these on the beach.

Question: Where is it again?

When you get to Tybee, look for the Light House.  The Tybee Lite Shrine Club is immediately next to the Light House, on the ocean side.  It's an old fort and it looks like it is an old fort.

Question: What are transit options?

On Tybee, the following:

  • Tybee Beach Shuttle: Departs from Savannah Visitor Center at 10:00 A.M., 12:00 P.M., 2:00 P.M., 5:00 P.M. and will arrive approximately 45 minutes later at the Tybee Lite Shrine Club. $5.00/person.
  • Tybee Turtle Transit: In and around Tybee.  $3.00/person.
  • Island Hoppers: In and around Tybee. $3.00/person.

In Savannah, the following:
